You’ve been holding everything together for longer than you can remember.

You’re the one people rely on.
The one who copes.
The one who keeps going – even when it’s heavy.

And on the outside, nothing looks broken.

But underneath it all…
there’s a quiet tension.
A constant sense of being slightly braced.
Like if you stopped, even for a moment, something might slip.

This book isn’t about fixing yourself.
It’s about recognising what you’ve been carrying…
without even realising it.

The strength you learned.
The roles you stepped into.
The quiet ways you adapted to loss, change, and everything life placed on your shoulders.

Because something happens after an ending.

Not just grief, or change, or loss –
but a shift in how you move through the world.

You hold more.
You prepare more.
You become the one who keeps everything steady.

And over time…
you lose sight of where you are in it all.

Permission to Put It Down is a deeply honest, quietly powerful exploration of what happens when you stop bracing…
and start noticing.

Not forcing change.
Not becoming someone new.
Just gently seeing what was never yours to carry.

And what becomes possible when you finally put it down.

This book is for you if:

  • You feel like you’re always the strong one
  • You struggle to rest, even when nothing is wrong
  • You find it hard to switch off, slow down, or stop thinking ahead
  • You’ve been through an ending that changed you — and you’re still finding your way back
  • You want to feel lighter… without having to fix yourself first

You don’t need more strategies.
You don’t need to try harder.

You just need to see…
what you’ve been carrying

Because there was never anything wrong with you.

There was only something
you didn’t realise you were allowed to put down.

Permission to Put It Down is for the woman who’s ready to stop bracing –
and finally feel lighter.

Andrea Wilkin writes with honesty and quiet depth about the unseen weight so many women carry — and what becomes possible when they finally set it down.

You’ve replayed it.
Questioned yourself.
Wondered if you could have done more, said more, been more.

Permission to Put It Down helped you see what you’ve been carrying.

This workbook helps you finally release it.

How to Put It Down is a guided, practical companion designed to move you out of overthinking and into real emotional freedom.

Through simple, powerful exercises, you’ll begin to:

• Let go of guilt, shame and self-blame
• Break the cycle of “what if” and “I should have…”
• Stop replaying the past and feel more present
• Respond to life now — not from old patterns
• Move forward feeling lighter, clearer and more in control

On being an Author

Writing gives me another way to reach the women who are ready to stop carrying everything alone.

My books are rooted in the same work that guides my sessions: self-connection, emotional release, healing, and the quiet courage it takes to let go of guilt, shame, blame and old patterns. They are written for the woman who has held so much together for so long that she may have forgotten what it feels like to simply breathe.

Through Permission To Put It Down and How To Put It Down, I wanted to create words that feel gentle, honest and practical. These books are not about forcing change or pretending healing is easy. They are an invitation to pause, notice what has become too heavy, and begin releasing what no longer belongs to you.

For me, being an author is about offering a hand on the page. A reminder that you are not broken, you are not behind, and you do not have to carry every story, wound or responsibility forever.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is give yourself permission to put something down.
